Entry is free and open to all students in Grades 3–12 in the Syracuse metropolitan area and greater Central New York region. The portal opens Monday, May 4, 2026. All auditions must be submitted by Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.

Complete the form below, confirm your grade level, and choose one or more of the five performance categories. Each category requires a separate video upload — there is no limit to the number of categories you may enter.

2Film & Upload Your Performance

Film your audition video in a quiet, well-lit space (classroom, living room, community center). No professional production required — clear, audible, and performed from memory. Upload as MP4 or MOV, max 500 MB.

3Receive Confirmation

All submissions receive an acknowledgment email within 72 hours. Finalist notifications will be sent to all contestants — advancing or not — by Monday, June 15, 2026.

4. Consent & Submission

By completing and submitting this form, the parent or guardian on behalf of the contestant: confirms the contestant's identity, age, and enrollment eligibility; consents to the contestant's participation in the competition and live performance at The Day of Orature on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Clinton Square, Syracuse, NY; acknowledges the competition Terms and Conditions; and grants the Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use audition video footage and any Foundation-produced footage of the live performance for educational, archival, documentary, and promotional purposes. Contestants retain full ownership and copyright of all original creative work. The Foundation will not sell or transfer footage to third parties for commercial use. Footage removal may be requested at any time.
